I know I've spoken about my cousin before. She was a dog person with several rescue Pomeranians. Then she started feeding stray cats that came to her house. Then she started trapping some kittens born to one of the strays. Then she took in one of the strays. Then she took in a second stray. Then she got involved with a local cat shelter. Then she started fostering for that shelter. Then she started volunteering with that shelter. Then that shelter offered her a job.
And here her failure began.
Her first foster kitten was named Nitro.
If you were reading while I was in rehab, she brought him to meet me! (
this post)
What a little sweetie, but too young to be adopted. So she kept him temporarily. Then he got old enough, got his shots and went back to the shelter. But he wasn't happy with his cage so she took him home at night. She and her husband, the man who built my Celestial Skyway, loved little Nitro but kept hoping he'd get a home. One day my cousin told her husband that Nitro had been adopted and his people would get him on Christmas Eve.
On Christmas Eve she asked her husband to get her a drink. He went to the kitchen and found Nitro sitting there with a bow around his neck. Merry Christmas!
Foster Failure!
On the day of my families Christmas party cousin invited me to the shelter to visit and play with the kitties after the party. Did I accept? DUH! lol! Yeah, I wanted to play with the kitties!
She introduced me to a three legged kitty. A real sweetie who liked to be held and pet. He had a hard time moving around at the shelter because the floors are all tile and his little no-foot leg would slip and slide. So she took him home as a foster so he could learn to walk around on carpet and see of he could do better there.
I told her to be careful, she didn't want another foster fail! Know what she answered me? "Oh I knew I was going to adopt him the moment I took him home."
Foster Failure number 2!
That's four rescue dogs and four rescue kitties! I think those are some pretty awesome failures! (The dogs were not fosters, but someone else failed to recognize how great they were so my cousin got them.) (And the first two kitties previous owners failed to care for them so my cousin got them!)
I have one more failure to share.
This one is a bed failure! I'll let Nitro show you what I mean.
Oh Hai! I was just nappin', sorry. Bed failure? Oh yeah. No no, not the one I'm sitting in, don't 'let's be silly'! I loves this bed!
I CLAIMS THIS BEDDY IN THE NAME OF NITR.. hmm? oh, sorry, just making sure everyone knows the rules, that's all. Ahem, anyway.. See the failure next to me? That big, poofy, store-bought bed? THAT's the failure. Not this fabulous hand-made, Winnie's Wish FUNdraiser bed!
See, I has a smug because I loves it so much. Oh, but I do have a use for that big ol' thing. It makes a decent head rest when I'm in the most awesomest blue bed!
Now if you'll pardon me, I has to finish my nap. I have to hold down my beddy while I nap so no one else tries to get it. You want's one? You's just gonna has ta get yer own! hee hee zzzzzzzzz

Just in case you do want your own, here's where you get it! :)
