No Girlcats Allowed?

Do you all remember Leo's mancat cave in the bottom of the short cat tree by the window? Not the caves in the tall tree that everyone uses. But the one that Leo claimed early on when he was adopted because Star never went in there.

If you have been reading here a long time, you might know that there have been rumors of pictures of pretty ladycats lining the walls of said mancat cave... (evidence at the very bottom of his second birthday post in 2012).

No one has been in the mancat cave in ages. Leo might be a little to large for it now, and besides the caves in the new, taller tree, are more spacious.

No one has been in it, until now.

Cashmere: As the smallest kitty in the house, I fit just fine in here! And it's 'front window adjacent! You know what they say about real estate; location, location, location.

Gotta change out the wall décor though.. I mean, sure I like these girl kitties, think of them as friends, but I'm thinking a few hot mancats instead..

Oh boy, wonder what Leo's gonna think about this when he finds out!
(Uh, please ignore all the fur on the tree, there are three very floofy cats here..)

Greg's View and Opt to Adopt Blog Hop

Every morning when Greg goes upstairs, he's greeted by this sight.

Glitter: It's warm up here, right Leo?
Leo: Warm, yes. And I get to block the stairs. Bonus!

Glitter: Yeah. well I don't like being tripped over.
Leo: That's not fair! I haven't tripped him yet! He just has to walk around me. heh heh
Glitter: Anyone ever tell you that you're weird, brother?
Leo: Yeah, I don't know why though..

Cashmere occasionally joins them, but mostly it's these two. Sometimes they ask for pets. Usually they just want to be near their daddy.

This week's Winnie's Wisher is actually two Winnie's Wishers! Sweet Sisters!

Sisters Yardley and Nisha need a home where they can be together and without more dominant or aggressive cats. They like other cats, but are intimidated by dominant ones. So they would do well either with no other cats or with one or two mild, easy going kitties.
All they want is love and attention, belly rubs and cuddles. Do you know of the perfect home for them?
Read more about them HERE.

The FUNdraiser for Winnie's Wish is still, and always, available!

Cats like Nisha and Yardley are one of the biggest reasons Winnie's Wish needs a new room. Please go to their gofundme page and help if you can!
Spread the word please, so this new room can be built this spring!!
They seem stuck at 45%, please help get them over 100%!
Thank you!

My Turn by Glitter

Remember last Monday's post when Glitter was leaning on the ham-mock Leo was in, waiting for her turn?

Well here we go.

Glitter: Hmm? What's that? Who wants to know?
Leo: Oh, that's the kitties and peoples who read us.
Cashmere: Why do they always come at nap time?

Glitter: Oh, hi.. Didn't see you there. Uh, yeah.. I got the spot. How, you ask? Well.. Leo's a nice brother, he just.. gave it to me. Yeah.
Leo: Yeah, that's right.....
Cashmere: Maybe because you threatened to lick all of the feathers so much that they'd be too wet to  play with for a month.

Glitter: Whatever.. I got my spot, didn't I?
Leo: I just needed a baff, and this is my baff spot. I don't move for threats from girlcats.
Cashmere: *snortgiggle* Ok Leo.. Anyway, Glitter. When's MY turn?
Glitter: Sleeping..zzzzzzz can't hear you..
Cashmere: Maybe I need to lick the noisy toys...
Glitter: I said soon! Sheesh!

Boy! Hope you have enough good nappy spots at  YOUR house!

If you need help in that area.. :)

My Cousin's Failure

I know I've spoken about my cousin before. She was a dog person with several rescue Pomeranians. Then she started feeding stray cats that came to her house. Then she started trapping some kittens born to one of the strays. Then she took in one of the strays. Then she took in a second stray. Then she got involved with a local cat shelter. Then she started fostering for that shelter. Then she started volunteering with that shelter. Then that shelter offered her a job.

And here her failure began.

Her first foster kitten was named Nitro.

If you were reading while I was in rehab, she brought him to meet me! (this post)

What a little sweetie, but too young to be adopted. So she kept him temporarily. Then he got old enough, got his shots and went back to the shelter. But he wasn't happy with his cage so she took him home at night. She and her husband, the man who built my Celestial Skyway, loved little Nitro but kept hoping he'd get a home. One day my cousin told her husband that Nitro had been adopted and his people would get him on Christmas Eve.

On Christmas Eve she asked her husband to get her a drink. He went to the kitchen and found Nitro sitting there with a bow around his neck. Merry Christmas!

Foster Failure!

On the day of my families Christmas party cousin invited me to the shelter to visit and play with the kitties after the party. Did I accept? DUH! lol! Yeah, I wanted to play with the kitties!

She introduced me to a three legged kitty. A real sweetie who liked to be held and pet. He had a hard time moving around at the shelter because the floors are all tile and his little no-foot leg would slip and slide. So she took him home as a foster so he could learn to walk around on carpet and see of he could do better there.

I told her to be careful, she didn't want another foster fail! Know what she answered me? "Oh I knew I was going to adopt him the moment I took him home."

Foster Failure number 2!

That's four rescue dogs and four rescue kitties! I think those are some pretty awesome failures! (The dogs were not fosters, but someone else failed to recognize how great they were so my cousin got them.) (And the first two kitties previous owners failed to care for them so my cousin got them!)

I have one more failure to share.

This one is a bed failure! I'll let Nitro show you what I mean.

Oh Hai! I was just nappin', sorry. Bed failure? Oh yeah. No no, not the one I'm sitting in, don't 'let's be silly'! I loves this bed!

I CLAIMS THIS BEDDY IN THE NAME OF NITR.. hmm? oh, sorry, just making sure everyone knows the rules, that's all. Ahem, anyway.. See the failure next to me? That big, poofy, store-bought bed? THAT's the failure. Not this fabulous hand-made, Winnie's Wish FUNdraiser bed!

See, I has a smug because I loves it so much. Oh, but I do have a use for that big ol' thing. It makes a decent head rest when I'm in the most awesomest blue bed!

Now if you'll pardon me, I has to finish my nap. I have to hold down my beddy while I nap so no one else tries to get it. You want's one? You's just gonna has ta get yer own! hee hee zzzzzzzzz

Just in case you do want your own, here's where you get it! :)

Leo Stairing and Opt to Adopt Blog Hop

No, I didn't spell that wrong. Leo's stairing, not staring! He can sure pick some funny napping spots.

Isn't he the cutest thing! Look at those jellybean toes! All them toehawks! Fluff!

I don't know what makes him think those stairs are a comfy place to nap, but he's been seen there many times. Finally caught him on camera.

Slate is a Winnie's Wish sweetie who needs a home of his own. He has had issues with some of the other cats in the cathouse and could use a family of his own where he can be himself. I just know that all he needs is a little time and he'll adjust and be someone's darling.
He's been attached and unattached to some other kitties but will do well on his own. Do you know the perfect home for Slate? Would you help them find each other? Please share!!

Winnie's Wish has a serious need for another room on the cathouse.

Before and after pictures of Winnie's Wishers, it's amazing!

I wrote the following on Friday, and I believe it. I believe it says it well so I'm copying it here.

There are lots of other Winnie's Wish kitties who need homes! Right now Chrystal is planning, and hoping to add another room on the cathouse. You can read about her wish HERE.

It would be great if a lot of the kitties could be adopted out before construction starts, wouldn't it? Lets spread the word about the adoptable kitties of Winnie's Wish and ask our friends to do the same, please!

If you want to help with the new room, please see the gofundme page for it, HERE
