Sunshine and Opt to Adopt Blog Hop

Oh boy did we get some sunshine! Unfortunatly it came with the hots! What ever happened to the nice spring weather, 60's, some 70's temperatures.. Nice breezes and that 'ahhhh' feeling now that the colds are gone.. Why do we have to go from the colds directly to the hots with no stops in between??

Ok, I'll stop ranting..

Leo was enjoying the sun shiney day anyway! Sitting in the bright sunlight in the window made him a very happy boy!

All this sun brings out the birdies! And the squirrel! Not to mention the big guy across the street...

Can you see the railing around the porch across the street in this picture? They have a big white Cockatoo over there and when the weather is nice, he gets to go outside along with his pal, an African Gray parrot. They walk around on that railing. The cockatoo is a real character and he is LOUD! You can hear him all the way up to our house. (It's not obvious in the picture, but our front yard is really long, it's farther away than it looks.) He has a lot of vocalizations including a cell phone ring and the squeal of a loose belt in a car.

The cockatoo, who's wings are clipped, will get down and walk across the street to our yard, talking all the way. This is vastly entertaining to the kitties! And the rest of us too! Sometimes he'll climb a bush, grab a low hanging branch and get up in a tree and then when his mom comes to get him, he'll sit up there and tease her, swinging back and forth on the branch and talking to her. She keeps telling him he has to go home and he just happily squawks, as if he's laughing and saying 'you can't make me!'

That's when she breaks out the big guns. She tells him that the chickenhawk is coming! Yikes! So he'll consent to coming down, eventually, and will walk back across the street with her. Squawking, of course. I don't know if some people find it annoying, but as for me, I think it's adorable and fun! So do Star and Leo, who watch this parade as often as it happens.

Isn't having sunshine a wonderful experience?! We are having tons of rain now, but the weekend was beautiful with blue sky and sun.

If you're anywhere east of Colorado, you'll get some cooler temperatures, don't worry! We had a SNOW STORM over the weekend. Can you believe it?!

The kitties are really adorable, and I really hope they find homes soon!

I'm a temperate weather man; give me moderate warmth. These days, it seems to go from too cold to too hot. Is it just my rose-coloured glasses, or were things different years ago?

Mommy used to have parrots long ago when she was a teen and first married. Then they started traveling and that was that. She farmed out the birds to family members.

I hate that the cockatoo is walking across the street. Some person with a car will perhaps harm him.
