Minor Breakthroughs

We did have the sleepy weekend we were hoping for. But we also had a few minor breakthroughs! Star and Leo actually shared the back of the couch! They haven’t done that since Leo first arrived, before Star decided that he contaminated everything he touched and gave up several of her best spots.

And then, they were actually within touching distance of each other, and no one hit, hissed or flipped out! Ok, that might have been because they were waiting for a snack.. but still, I’m counting it as a win!

I'm not looking at you.

No, I not looking at you!

We also were able to pedicure both of them! Leo was so unhappy about it that he actually grumbled at us! Long time readers might remember that Leo doesn’t even grumble at Star when she’s attacking him, so this was startling to us! (He has started growling at her, letting her know that he’s about done with her shenanigans)

After we finished with the clipping, and after a suitable time hiding should we decide to cut anything else off of him, Leo discovered the clippers... I couldn’t catch him on camera, but he kept whapping at them, trying to drag them off the table. Probably to hide them so we couldn’t do it again!

We not gonna do that again.. um, would you look away for a minute?

I have bad news for him. With as much trouble as I had with his wonky claw, I’m not letting it go this long again. We’re gonna keep that thing in check rather than play catch up after they get so long and that wonky one gets thick!

Hope you all had a mostly good weekend too!

Wow that is fantastic news and so nice to see the picture of them together on the sofa!!! We used treats to bring Kip and the gang together the do wonders to unite kitties and make friends :-)

The more often you clip the wonky claw the quick will recede and it's SO much easier to trim! Kona has thick toenails and we do her every three weeks or so.
Much to her dismay.

Good to see you both on the sofa together. Kizzie doesn't like pedicures either, but the little bean is the worst one for trying to avoid them.

That is so great that they are sort of getting along and almost getting close to each other. Smart kitty trying hide those clippers. We sure hope all of you have a terrific Tues.

we don't like it when papa clips our claw but mama and papa double team us, one of them is giving us the scritches, belly rubs, and head massage while the other clips the nail :)

I have been here for a year, and my sisfur, Sassy, will seldom sit near me. Great progress!

Sweet Leo sounds like our sweet little Oui Oui! The mom just loves him (partly cause she's a Leo herself and partly cause she loves the name and partly cause he's so sweet and handsome!). We signed up & are following you now.

I'm glad to hear that Leo and Star are making progress! I hope it continues. It took Milita a while to accept Carmine as part of the family, but it did happen and now they play with each other and sleep within touching distance with no problems :) Just give them time; I'm sure they'll work it out.

LOL, Leo is a smart cat! Whenever Milita had medication, she'd find it and hide it from us so we had to search everywhere before we could give it to her. Now, we put it somewhere where she can't get to it to hide it. Sometimes kitties are just too smart for their own good ;)
