Star's Treasure

Star must have followed the rainbow after yesterday's storm because she found the treasure at the end of it. What she thinks is treasure anyway!

Let's see.. hair dryer, ponytailer, brush.. all I need is just one more thing.

Don't even think you're getting any of this back.

I'm prepared to negotiate for the final piece of my collection..

What'll it take to get you to part with some or all of your hair?
I'm opening this offer to anyone with sweet smelling hair, preferably damp from being washed. I'm paying high dollar because I know where mom keeps the plastic money.

Oh boy... If you have long hair.. Run!

Weather Watching Wednesday

We just had a really big storm! Ok, not REALLY big like some of you have been going through with tornadoes and downed trees and devastation.. But a big boom boom thunder and lightening storm! With flickering lights and everything!

Just a little FYI on me: I don't like storms. Especially when the lights go out! Especially at night! Especially with close thunder and lightening! Especially... ever! That's all. Call me a wimp, I don't care.

This was the biggest boom boom storm we've had in quite a while. We did lose our lights a while back, but it wasn't as loud, or in the middle of the night so it didn't seem as bad.

So I'm laying there, doing the if-I'm-under-the-blankets-it-can't-get-me, shifty eyes and nose peeking over the top when a huge figure loomed into the edges of my vision! Followed by a near lung collapsing leap to my chest... Oh hi Leo, you scared of the storm too?

I have to let the sheet down enough to get my arms out to comfort my baby and to try to get him to lay down. Leo turns in a circle then starts to lay down, half in my neck, ack! Immediately he jumps back up, turns around again and attempts to crush my lungs again while settling down. Nope, up again, turning, sitting, making with the cello playing for a quick lick lick, but before he can set tongue to fur he's up again.

The storm must really be freaking him out I think! It's ok, baby, I'll protect y... oof! He leaped off of me using power pylon back legs! One bounce and he's on his tree! He shoves the kinda-curtain aside and sits there. Watching the storm. For the rest of the night!

Ok, so there was only one chicken around here I guess..

Although! Come to think of it, I don't know where Star was during this! Maybe I wasn't the lone wimp after all!

There are no pictures of this event. One, because I would have had to get up to get the camera, and two, because I didn't even think of it until it was all over!

But here's an old picture similar to how interested he was, minus the dark and stormies.

Boom! Flash! Ooo Nature's Fireworks!

Little freak...   ;)

Hope you all had/have a better night than we did!

Coconut Oil Season and Opt to Adopt Blog Hop!

Summer must be coming, the coconut oil is out again!

Yep, we're getting ahead of Star's summer itchy skin allergies and starting the coconut oil before she has an issue! Fingers crossed, this way she won't have any issues at all!

Today I'm asking you to help find homes for two senior sisters who are part of Winnie's Wish! They do not have to go together, but they sure would like some families of their very own! They are six years old and have a lot of love to give!

Circe is a real beauty. She was adopted once but the family had problems and she was returned. She's back to full health and beauty now, and is so ready for a forever family! She will beg for attention with her eyes, will you give her the time and love she needs and wants?

Tibby Bean has not been ready to look for a home until recently, and though she still has some issues, she sure would love someone to give her the attention she craves. She does give love nibbles or love bites. (My Star has done this, but I think Tibby Bean does it more) Tibby Bean would need a very understanding home. She is grouchy with other cats, but would probably live comfortably with her sister if you wanted two kitties. Are you the special home for Tibby Bean?

You can read more about the girls HERE.

And you can find more adoptable Winnie's Wishers on the sidebar of the Daily Dose Blog.

If you are not the perfect home for these girls, would you share and pass on word of them? You never know if someone you know, or someone you know knows, might be looking for just these kitties!

Mancat Monday

There seems to be something odd going on with my makeshift curtain...

There is something odd! Somecat is using it for a blanket! Can you see how curled around in it Leo is? Not easy with the bright outside light and dark inside I know..

He's definitely got full sun on his furs this way, doesn't he? So am I going to make him move before he pulls the whole thing down?

Mommy.. can  you keep it down, I'm tryin' to nap here..

*whisper* Sorry baby!  No, I don't think I could bring myself to make him move when he looks so cute!

I love, I love, I love...

My Calendar Girl!

If you got the cats of the CB calendar you might have noticed that today's star is...

STAR!
(pun intended)

Here's her calendar shot in all it's glory!

Note the curly belly furs, the playfulness, the 'caught!' expression! I love this picture, personally, it really shows off her cuteness. And there's toe fluff!

Hope you all have a wonderful, playful weekend!

The Waiting Game

This starts almost every day about half an hour, sometimes forty five minutes before Greg gets home. Star starts her 'Daddy Watch' routine.

Note, if you will, damp spots on her back where she was sprucing up for the grand event!

"Oh where oh where has my ol' daddy gone?
Oh where oh where can he be?
With his hair cut short and his ear hair growing long..
Oh where oh where can he be?"

It used to freak me out because I thought she was hearing something out there! But now I know, she's just anticipating her dad's arrival. She's a smart cookie to have figured out the time, no?

(Apologies to Greg for the song, hee hee, couldn't help myself!)
