Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific

As you know, we've been working hard over here on the Winnie's Wish Summer FUNdraiser! That means visitors!

I usually need some help moving heavy things to get my sewing supplies out and things shoved around so I can work. This used to be my niece who lived with me, twin 1, or her sister, twin 2. Twin 1 is still in Wyoming.. for the sole purpose of killing me of course.. and twin 2 has been working two jobs, so obviously neither of them have been available recently. Their brother has been helping out big time though!

The kitties, not so happy. It took twin 1 moving in for Star to accept her, aside from her unnatural attachment to her hair.. But they finally made somewhat of a truce. Leo was fine with her as she was here when he moved in. Twin 2 has always been scared of Star, but now that she's figured out that Star talks when she gets pet and it's not a threat, they're ok now. Leo, not so sure about her.

But the nephew! Oh boy is that a different story! Star HATED him. Hate! Except during the first years when she was still unfixed. For some reason when she went into heat she became attached to his feet. His socks to be specific. It was weird.. After she was fixed, she was totally done with him! Leo, again, not so sure. As with any visitor, Leo is gone the moment the door opens.

Nephew has been spending a lot of time over here lately and Star has gotten tired of hiding from him all day. Leo too, but he only comes out if he can hide behind me. Last time nephew came over, Star was sleeping on the Royal Footstool. The door opened, Leo sprinted from the room. But Star looked up at him, she thought about moving, but decided she was too comfortable, so she just watched him. Since he left her alone, she stayed out all day.

Nephew and I have been watching a lot of movies while I sew. As we were finishing one the other day, he was sitting on the floor, leaning against the couch. Star likes to sit on the arm of the couch and she got up there. I was watching from the corner of my eye, hoping she wouldn't reach out and smack him in the back of the head, which would be just like her. But instead.. she did something totally different!

Oh, hello there... this.. smells nice!

Contrary to some people's opinions.. I do NOT have a hair addiction.

It's just that.. some hair is almost as good as nip!

And mom has been selfish with the nip... 'for other kitties' my furry behind..

What can I say, the boy has grown on me. And he doesn't pick on me any more, that helps!

Here, she did more than just rub.. she got some a paw full of claws into his head. Guess he moved and she wanted him back.
Nephew: ARRRGH!
Star: Well, stop making me reach. This couch arm only goes so far you know!

(The reason her back looks so funny is because she just gave herself a bath and is still damp, her fur is curly when wet)

Since Star has so graciously allowed me to use the nip to stuff toys, would you please have a look at the Summer FUNdraiser page if you haven't yet? I know she'd appreciate it. And so do I and the Winnie's Wishers who are being helped by every donation and toy set sent out!
If you could share it, that would help Winnie's Wish too! Thank you!!

Does Winnie's Wish have a Facebook page? If so, I could share it and contact the folks in my small part of the world about the great toys and the cause they support. Mistletoe, Hitch and the Ginger Twins are all enjoying this third batch of toys. Thanks much.

As our blog is The Cat on My Head, you know we got a lot of that cat to human head action going on at our house. Misty May who is the cat on my head, loves to run up to Mom across the bed and head butt her in the head with all her strength. We think she's made the same face as your nephew more than a few times. You are so good to be making all those catnip toys. Good luck with the fundraiser. Purrs and hugs to all, Lily Olivia, Misty May, Mauricio, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

Once when TW was sleeping over a friend's house, one of her cats dove into TW's hair forcefully and painfully. I dunno if I'd trust him Star.

Never ever have we heard of another cat that is addicted to hair product!! Boris, and big ginger and white mancat before me, would get on the back of the couch and rub and rub his head all over some peoples' heads if he liked their hair product...then he would give their scalp some bitey bites and if they moved he held on with his paws to keep them still...no claws...our pet sitter has very long hair and she would wash it at night and use different hair conditioners to delight Boris and she would spread her hair across the pillow to dry, and Boris would sleep in her hair!!!
