Difficult Days

Cat’s are amazing creatures. I know just about everyone reading this knows that already, but it bears repeating. Amazing. It has been a rough weekend for me as a very dear friend of mine and a fellow kitty lover was getting ready to pass on. Her kitty was not much for sitting by her side for very long ever. But at this time, he spent time laying by her feet. He knew.

And I like to think that she knew he was there even through the morphine. It had to make her happy, that he was there to comfort her. It makes me happy to know that at the end, her buddy put off any stand-off-ish-ness and lay with her. Some cat’s are just not cuddlers, some are overly affectionate, some are somewhere in the middle. Just like people.

It helps that I know exactly where my friend is now. And it just wouldn’t be heaven without kitties!
I’m grateful that my cuddle-buddy is here with me. Star, while she likes to sit on me, she does not allow snuggles. Leo lets me hug and snuggle and rub my face against his soft furry body. I love both of my kitties, but Leo has been my comfort today. Though I have to say Star has been at my side a little more than usual, just not on my lap. Leo’s my hugger and I’ve already had to pause writing a couple times to snuggle my Leo-scarf.

Tomorrow, or another day this week, I will get to showing some of Leo’s adventures from the week with no internet. But today, I’m just gonna cuddle my buddy.
