Big Announcement! And Daddy's Chair

Before we get to today's post, I have some great news that I keep forgetting to announce!

If you recall, my secret hope and dream was that the FUN FUN FUNdraiser would bring in a thousand dollars, but I wasn't sure that could happen so I out loud wished for a couple hundred for Winnie's Wish. Well, this week we sorted out the money, figured what paypal and postage and everything took and would you believe it, WE, that's YOU and us, WE raised $1062!!!!! OVER a thousand! Oh my gosh do you guys rock!!!! Do you know how many spays, neuters, vaccines, how much food and litter and miscellaneous medical care that will cover?!?! How awesome is that!?!
I thank ever single one of you for your help in spreading the word, for donating and loving the toys, and for caring enough about Winnie's Wish to jump on board with us! Again, you all rock!!

Now the biggest need over there is adoptions! The cathouse is full and she has three kitties, including the one with the broken leg, in the house. She needs more room, she needs to adopt out some of those kitties. So lets put as much effort into finding those homes as we did to the FUNdraiser, ok? Tell everyone, blog, facebook and tweet, tell all your friends and family! Please help THESE KITTIES find a forever home!

Thank you!

Oh, and yes, you can still get FUNdraiser toys for donations to Winnie's Wish. I've got plenty ready to go!

Daddy's Chair

Star LOVES sitting on the arm of her daddy's chair! Not just to get pets, but just to be near him. Or perhaps she thinks of it as HER chair and wants him to move.. Either way, she's so sweet looking when she sits there. Here are a few examples.

Daddy ALWAYS gives her his bowl after he's done with ice cream. He usually leaves a bit in there for her too, just a bit because he doesn't want her to get sick, but he doesn't want her to be deprived either.. I give her my bowl too (Leo is completely uninterested in human food and would rather try to bury it than lick it..) but it's never as good, and she will snub her nose at it or, in the case of sherbet, she'll try to bury it too! Apparently daddy has better taste in ice cream flavors...

Hurry up.. Aren't you done yet? I want my licks.

This was a very weird usage of daddy's chair... Greg and I have very different ideas of what a 'comfortable' temperature is.. When I'm cold, he's hot, when I'm hot, he's cold *sigh* The other day he was hot and I had a snuggy on, so he turned on the fan and aimed it at himself.

Star jumped up, and we were both surprised when she sat and faced the fan.
Daddy's hot, I'm hot.

If that wasn't cute enough, she lifted her face toward the fan and just kept it there! Seriously, I took several pictures of this scene, thinking I'd have a series of expressions or movements.. but she never budged, not a muscle.. She just sat face in the breeze. So obviously I'm not going to show them, it would look like I just copied the same picture over and over!
I love the way the wind blows through my furs.

Freezey mommy closed my windows, how else do you expect me to catch the breeze?

Is there a better spot in the house than next to the one you love?

Bug Watch 2012

Ok, first thing, I have to apologize for the quality of the pictures today. They were SOOOO dark, that by the time I got them to where you could see the kitty, well, they sucked. But I thought it was such a cute sequence, that I wanted to share them anyway. The stupid camera was picking something in the foreground to focus on and Leo was left in the dark, sigh.

Leo was talking to the door, I figured there were bugs walking on the outside of it, attracted to the inside light. I didn't want to move and distract him, though he obviously knew what I was doing from the first shot..

What? I not talkin' to you..

I talkin' to him.. Mr. Interesting Bug. I calls him IB for short.

Star was watching the whole thing with her usual disdain.. Of course, if SHE had been the one in the door, then the bug would have been worthwhile. But since it was Leo, well, it must be a junky bug..
Idiot barbarian... Doesn't know quality bugs from a hole in the door.

IB is quality... You can't see him from where you are, that's all.

Oo! He went up higher!

Oh boy does he look yummy!

These got a little better because I finally decided to move for a better shot. Hoping to see the bug.. There are bugs walking back and forth in the white bar half way up the door. They act like they don't know how to get out, but in the morning, there are none left in there. I thought he was looking higher than the bar though..
I see you up there IB, I got my eyes on you..

I need a lift up there.. I need to get you IB.

I's a tall boy, but I's not quite tall enough..

He did actually start to climb, but the nature of digital cameras... especially mine, didn't let me snap the picture before he was back on the floor! Argh!

Stolen Kicky!

So as I was preparing a few sets of toys to send out, I had a few pieces I didn't need on the couch next to me. I was sorting and making sure I had good colorful combinations when I realized that I was not alone...

What tipped me off, besides getting clawed in the bum, was the intense purring! I looked and there was Star, rolling around, using me to get leverage, wrasslin' with a kicky.. She stole it! And let me tell you, it was already drool-ful...

Well, there was no way I could give this one to someone else now! I mean, a tiny kick, a quick bitey, that's just a little love from one kitty to another. But a completely drooled on, chewed on, kicked on kicky... No. It had to be hers now. Which was probably her plan all along, the little brat!

I tossed it over onto the floor, mostly to get the claws out of my uh.. tender parts. She dived after it and showed it what for!

Ah kicky, at last you're mine!

I will lick you and kick you and call you George..

*slurp slurp* Pardon my drool...

I rubs you on my face, purrrrrrrrrr

Why must you take so many pictures of me and my love, George?

You get the back of disrespect, George gets the kick of love!

I love you George! *drool*

And they call it.. kicky looove....

More Chair!

We got that new (to us) chair from my uncle not all that long ago, and the kitties love it. Greg too, because it's more comfortable than The Chair that he usually sits on that matches the couch. We got another call this week that my uncle had another chair for us! How awesome! So Greg picked it up this week and we waited to see how the kitties would react, since they had been enthralled with the last one.

They acted like... nothing. It must have had the same familiar scent as the last one, so no biggie. It's the same-ish color, so no biggie. I think they thought it was the same! They ignored it! Ok, Star gave it one cursory sniff as she passed.. They never do what you expect, do they?

Yesterday Greg was walking through the room, he stopped, came back and stole the camera. He stared taking pictures of the newest (to us) chair. Someone must be sleeping in it, I thought! Then I saw, and awwwwwww!

Closer up! Star is such a sweet sleeper!

Later, Greg stole the camera again and took this! Now we're getting silly!

And this one happened today! More of that claws stuck in something as she sleeps, arm outstretched.

Leo sleeps like a great big ol' goofball, Star is a silly sleeper. I love my babies!

Oh yeah, Greg likes the new chair too, it's bigger and better for snoozing in, which he's doing at this moment in fact. Star is sleeping in the other one. They're both snoring.
Leo is looking for critters out the door.

Hope you all have a good nappin' weekend!

Psst. you can still get toys from the FUNdraiser!
