Glitter: Hey. Hey Leo! Wake up!

Leo: Zzz*snort* huh.. wha?

Glitter: You've been in there long enough. My turn.

Leo: Srsly? I's sleepin'..

Glitter: I know. And now I want to sleep.

Leo: Oh my gosh, go get the cat tree...zzzzzz

Glitter: Hey! Don't go back to sleep!

 

 

Glitter: Well, sheesh.. Now how am I going to get him to move?

Leo: Zzzzzzzz

Glitter: I hate to resort to it, but I think I'm gonna have to bite him on the butt. It's really my only recourse at this point. I'm just so tired.. maybe I'll close my eyes for a few minutes while I prepare to nibble..zzzz

Thankful Thursday, A Day Late

I'm thankful for all of my fur babies! That's kind of a 'duh' statement. But yesterday was a good kitty day! For the most part.

I wrote recently about how NF (Nephew's Fiance) has stolen Cashmere! And I've written about how she follows Greg around when he's home. She loves everyone, it seems, but me.

Before I went into rehab she had started sleeping on my chest at night. But since my return, and it's been a long while! she hasn't been interested in me much at all. She'll take pets as she walks past me, but she's not coming up and asking for any. Not when she has her favorite people!

Glitter has always preferred getting her pets with all four feet on the ground, thank you very much. Which is hard for me with my leg issues. I convinced her to sit next to me when I'm sitting on the edge of the bed, letting her know she can get pets that way and it's worked pretty well.

Today! Glitter stayed beside me long enough to fall asleep and have a nap with her paws on my leg! Yay! I was so happy! That was enough to make my day!

But that wasn't all!

Yesterday and the day before Cashmere discovered one of Leo's favorite sleeping places. On my pillows when I'm up. She snuggled in and had a good nap!

Eventually I had to put my legs up, so unfortunately she had to get evicted. Imagine my surprise when she leaped up out of the blue and started walking across my chest! I started petting her and she paused! Sort of like "Hmm, ok, that feels nice." The more I pet, the more relaxed she got and she laid down purring her little head off!

Eventually she started to flick her tail at me so I stopped the petting, but she stayed and took a nice long nap on me. I was beyond happy!

I had a thankful Thursday cuddling two of my kitties who don't generally want to cuddle with me!

The only purrson who did not have a thankful Thursday was Leo.. He wanted to get on the bed when Glitter was sleeping next to me, blocking his way up. Then he wanted to nap on 'his' pillows when Cashmere was there. And finally, he was ready for his snuggle session when, you guessed it, Cashmere was sleeping on my chest!

Don't feel too bad for him, he did get his snuggles, just a little later than usual. I can always count on cuddles from my boy, my sweetie, my heart cat! I'm so thankful for him too!

Leo was a Winnie's Wish kitty. As were his sister of course. We're thankful that Chrystal let us adopt all of them!

Play or Sleep and Opt to Adopt Blog Hop!

Glitter likes to sleep on the upper most shelf of the big cat tree. Leo likes the second shelf. Occasionally, he's not quite tired enough to sleep, so he plays with the dangling toy.

The light from outside the window made the pictures hard to get, but don't you love the outline of Leo's giant paws? You can almost see all his extra toes!

Leo: *gnaw gnaw* I gotcha now, fat dangling mousies!

Glitter: Zzzzzzz

 

Leo: No fair trying to get away!

Glitter: zzz .. huh, what?

Leo: Fine mousies, you can go for a minute. I'll just chew on your leather stringy! *chomp*

Glitter: Who the heck is shaking my bed perch?

 

 

Glitter: Oh, of course it's you, Leo.

Leo: Hey! You're awake! Wanna play?

Glitter: No.. I wanna nap..

Leo: Aw poo.. Well, can I play with your tail then? It is dangling here

Glitter: Um, I'm gonna go ahead and say no to that.

Leo: Ok, I'll keep playing with my mousie friends then.

Glitter: *sigh*

Speaking of Winnie's Wish; They are looking to add another room to the cathouse this summer to help separate kitties who might be intimidated by so many other kitties. It's an awesome project and can you believe they intend to do it for the low cost of around just $5000! Now, when you're self funded, that's still a lot! So if anyone wanted to send them a little for this project, every dollar helps!

A Toy Story

Have I mentioned that Cashmere is extremely attached to my nephew's fiancé (NF)? NF comes over every day to help me out while I'm still struggling with rehab with my legs, further complicated by the wrist issue. Cashmere loves loves loves NF and insists on laying up against her, getting cuddled by her and playing with her every day for as much time as she can get.

It's really cute. Unless you consider that she's STOLEN MY CAT'S AFFECTION! No no, it's fine really. Unless you consider that once NF goes home Cashmere is completely devoted to Greg, in which case HE has STOLEN MY CAT'S AFFECTION! No no, it's fine really. Unless you're me and you want the cats to only love me!

Whoops, did I say that out loud? Um.. Ok, let's get to the pictures! Cashmere getting some play time with her BFF NF!

Cashmere: I'm so lucky! I get to play with my favorite girl with a cool toy!

 

 

Cashmere: Whoa, hey! Where did it go?

 

 

Cashmere: Oh, silly me, there it is! She's tickling my buns with it.

Cashmere: I played for exactly 3.27 minutes, I might be done now, thank you.

 

 

Glitter showed up, as she usually does when there's any playing going on. That's the nephew, (The Boy or TB) sitting on the floor. As you can see, Cashmere rates a spot on the couch even before TB does!

Glitter: I heard some playing going on, sir, do you know where the toys are?

Cashmere: No toys here, no playing here. Buh bye now!

NF: Here you go, Glitter. Cashmere seems to be done anyway.

 

 

Cashmere: I was not done! I was.. resting! Yes, that's right, just taking a short break. Breaks over!

Glitter: We can take turns! My turn!

Glitter: Oh boy oh boy! It really is my turn!

 

 

Cashmere: Oh look, you have to contend with those dirty work boots. Why don't you just run along and I'll let you know when it's safe to play without that in your way?

Glitter: It's ok. They're not that dirty. And besides, I like work shoes.

Cashmere: I knew it was you that dropped chirping grasshopper in daddy's shoes!

Glitter: No one saw that, you can't prove anything!

NF: Oh, you still want to play, Cashmere? Let me get down another toy for you.

Cashmere: Oh thank you thank you! Hmm, this one is pretty good. Better than that one even!

Glitter: Got it! TB, you're lucky the groomer trimmed my claws recently, hee hee

Glitter: What do you mean "lazy player"? I'm very actively attacking this toy! From a prone position.

Glitter: Whoops, it's getting away from me! It's kind of a short toy.. Maybe you should get closer to me, NF?

 

 

Glitter: Oh! This one is much longer! A girl can really get into this one!

 

 

Cashmere: Hey! I was playing with that one! What's the deal!

Glitter: *bite claw grab chew*

NF: It's ok, Cashmere, you got the original toy back!

 

 

Cashmere: *sniffle* It's not about the original toy..

Glitter: I know what it's about! It's about wanting whatever toy I have! hee hee Gotcha toy!

Cashmere: See! Even Glitter understands!

Glitter: Hush up, you! You're going to draw unwanted attention!

Glitter: Ok, I don't think anyone heard yet.. I think we're still safe.

Grasshopper toy: *chirp chirp chirp*

Glitter: I'm going to have to bite your legs off if you don't pipe down! I don't want to share you with anyone else!

Grasshopper toy: *chirp chirp chirp*

Glitter: Sheesh, bat one toy and it starts rolling around loudly, bat another and it chirps! Can't a girl just play by herself quietly once in a while?

Grasshopper toy: *chirp chirp chirp*
