A Tail Of Two Kickies

It was the best of kickies, it was the worst of kickies..

Oh ok, that's as far as I can go with that, lol!

Leo rarely plays with the kickies. Those are mostly Star's favorites. Leo likes his feathers and stringies. So imagine my surprise when I looked up and saw Leo playing with not one, but two kickies at once!

Oh hey, what are you? You smell interesting..

Oh I'm gonna chew you guys to death!

I kick one and I bite the tail of the other! Bwahaha!

I's a two fisted, four pawed, kickie kicking machine!

This one's Star's favorite? Then I put the big bitey on it!

I kill all the toys! I'm the kickie killer! I win!

I wonder if Star will notice?

Flood Zone

It's been a while, but as it hasn't affected the kitty pictures it wasn't worth mentioning, but we had a flood. In indoor flood. The cap popped off of one of the water tubes in our bed. How fun is that?! Aside from having a flooded bed, we had a water fall through the dining room ceiling light fixture!

This happened right around the time I seriously buggered up my knee, so when we had to make a camp out bed downstairs, I wasn't whining too much. Not having to haul my poor aching knee up and down the stairs has actually helped that to heal better I think.

Someone else has been quite happy with this arrangement. Star has pretty much giving over possession of the upstairs bed to Leo since he insists on sleeping with us nearly every night. She never liked sleeping WITH us anyway, but she would come up for pets and then leave when she felt like it. But this downstairs bed. Well, that's about the best place to sleep during the day now!

I love the way she looks like she's about to fly off into the sky like a superhero!
Leave me alone or I'll go all ninja warrior superhero on your bum lady..

Leo is intrigued by the bed downstairs, but can't seem to make himself stay on it for more than a minute or two. In fact, it's almost impossible to get a picture of him on it. Here he is taking off quick just in case Star thinks it's her nap time.
Ya just never know... better safe than sorry!

We still don't have curtains, but since we're sleeping down here, we put some fabric panels over the windows. It's nice to not feel like I'm in a fish bowl for a while!

Leo likes the new viewing opportunity. Stealth style.
No one knows I'm here! hee hee hee

Leo Gets His Bites In

Leo's turn with the new toy! Thankfully he does not feel the need to hide from the camera! However, Star was nearby so he wasn't jumping, but instead waited for the toy to come to him.

Ooo I'm gonna get this one!

Nope, gotta come closer..

Then I can steal it from you! Bwahahaha!

I like to put the bitey on the elastic strap!

*bite bitey bite bite!*

Hey! No fair taking it back!

Ok, I'll just put the bitey on the play end. *chomp chomp*

Yup, I think this toy is a hit with both of them!

Cat Toy

I know this toy is supposed to be hanging from a door knob, but we thought it was fun to dangle it for the kitties! This is the other one we got from Cat Chat, and I love that it's a "cat" toy!
Today we've got Star playing with it!

Gotcha crinkly sounding toy!

What? The camera.. Why can't a girl just play when she wants to?

I'll teach that camera happy mom, I'll play from down behind the chair arm!

Nope, not close enough. I'm not jumping out for the camera.

Just a little closer!

Bingo!

*chomp!*

*smooch* You're such a good toy.

Tomorrow, Leo gets a turn!

Wish Granted

You all know how connected we feel to Winnie's Wish and Chrystal at Daily Dose, right? And how hard everyone worked to get a couple of Winnie's Wishers to their new forever home in California? Well, did you know that Mindy of Pugs and Purrs bought sets of FUNdraiser toys to go to adoptees from Winnie's Wish?

Well, she did, so I made them, and they were sent after Frosting and Hershey Bear finally made their way to their forever family! And then their new mom emailed some pictures and said this:

When it looked like all our options were running out, it meant so much to us to know that there were people who were willing to go out of their way to make this work. It has been so humbling to realize how many people were involved, both up front and behind the scenes, in getting these kitties to California. They are doing so well. Each day we can see them settling in more and more. We've been so blessed, not just by Hershey and Frosting themselves, but by all the love and hard work that went into getting them here.

I wrote to ask if I could share those pictures and as well as saying yes, she said this:

Hershey and Frosting have brought such joy into our home, and that message needs to be spread. Chrystal has poured so much love into these kitties and it really is evident in their personalities. Hoping our story will inspire more people out west to adopt from Winnie's Wish. :)

I felt these words of praise were meant for the whole blogosphere so I'm sharing them with all of you. As well as the pictures of them in their new home!!

Don't they look happy! Especially Frosting, leaning against one of her pawrents feetsies and cuddling up to her Winnie's Wish pillow! Do I hear a collective AWWWWWW out there?

To all of you, for your good wishes, your help, your purrs, your prayers, your willingness to do what needs to be done, thank you!

So, think we can do as much for some more Winnie's Wishers? ;) Please look on the Daily Dose side bar and see if you know someone who could use a little furry love in their life!

And now, a picture of my Winnie's Wisher..

And Star, so Spitty won't have another Starless night, MOL

We love you all!

A Little Modification

Remember the new toy we won?

Well, it's gone through some modification..

Notice something missing? The frilly ruffley bits are gone.

No, we didn't remove them because they were too girly! And we didn't even do it because claws kept getting caught in them. The kitties actually liked that part, I think because of the flowing way it moved. But first one just came out and I tied it back on to the looped tag. Then the other one tore in half and the sides split off in little thin strings and I was afraid someone would get hold of it and swallow those. I didn't want any issues so I took off the one I had tied on and the other one came out with a tiny tug, I guess it wasn't going to be there much longer. Leo can be rough on toys!

But I have to say, he loves it now that he can get hold of the long purple things! I wish I could have gotten pictures of him leaping into the air! But it's so hard to hold the camera and the wand at the same time.

I did get some pictures, not great ones, but you can see how much Leo still likes the toy.

Oh hey, gimme that!

I love you, unfrilly toy! I hugs you!

..And now I bites you!

I got you now! You never go away!

I'm glad we had this little talk, unfrilly toy.
