Why I'm Cold..

It's been extra chilly lately. The snows have started. We've had terrible wind. And of course, we still have no curtains, so our leaky windows keep it nice and brisk in here. I hate being cold..

I have been using a snuggy, one of those blankets with sleeves. But they're kind of light. Even if Leo does like laying on it between my feet on the Royal Footstool, it was time to get out a heavier blankey.

With that in mind, I dug out my pretty butterfly quilt and set it on the couch for when I wanted to snuggle up. It fell off onto the floor because it's bulky. Then when I was chilly and ready to settle into the couch, I reached for it. But I was stopped...

You tell me, would YOU have taken the blankey if you saw this?

Star was so cuddled in, so comfy looking, that I decided I could make do with a snuggy for one more day.. Don't tell me you'd have done any different!

  1. Hm... my human would probably have picked up the whole pile, sleeping kitty included and put it on top of her on the couch. Yes, she has done this, and tried doing it without awakening anybody. Usually without success. She is a little bit selfish!

  2. Surely NO ONE could even consider disturbing the Beauteous Star? (Well, maybe Sparkle's Mom, but nobody else!) If it were me, I'd just snoggle in there right next to her and purr and purr. Maybe you could have done that?

  5. Star looks very comfy on that blanket! It's a good thing you have the snuggie.

Ashton does that on the Blanket To Keep The Human's Feet Warm While Reading At Night. She arrives on the blanket on schedule just before book-reading time, too. Always the dilemma whether to disturb her or have cold feet...

Happy new year to Star, Leo, and the whole family!

  6. Maybe she'll be just as snug once the quilt is covering you.

  10. Hi Andrea!
As much as I would like to say that I would let the kitty lie in comfort, it depends on where the blanket is and if I am cold. In the basement, Percy and Golden spend most of their time and I let them have all the blankies and put on the heater if it gets cold. The nice thing is that the basement has had the windows re-caulked leaving it at the coldest in the 60s...and then the heater takes care of the rest. In my bedroom, if I'm going to bed, Luna usually must move over. :)
My family wishes you and yours a very happy and healthy New Year.

  18. Sadly, my mom would have. Of course, it's only because the girls always jockey for position on the blanket and usually wind up hissing at each other.

Happy New Year to you all!

  24. Considering yesterday TW lifted me and my beddy up so they could make pop's bed, I'm sure she'd lift blankie and Star. Have a Happy New Year! All the best in 2013.

  26. seriously, no one could ever move precious Star! She is so tucked into all that nice warmth! Mom turned the electric blankie on for me today for my nap!

  27. Nope, they wouldn't have touched it. Unspoken rule - if a kitty has it, it's off limits!
