Opt to Adopt Zen

Before we get to todays Opt to Adopt kitty I need to share some sad news about another Opt to Adopt kitty that I had featured many times.

There were a pair of bonded brother and sister kitties, Peter Pan and Tinkerbell. I don't know if you remember them from the several times I featured them or now, but Peter Pan was a pretty silver tabby and Tinkerbell is a rare orange tabby. They were put on hold in October when it was discovered that Peter Pan had kidney disease. This past weekend, he succumbed to that kidney disease.
Please take a moment and read about him and send Chrystal condolences at Daily Dose, Monday's post. (Then be sure to read today's as well)

Peter Pan was loved, cared for, had a roof over his head and was fed and had a pretty good life when you condisder that he was born in a feral colony in Florida. The cat house of Winnie's Wish is awesome. But still, I can't help but feel that we failed him. He never got a home of his own, with a family of his own. Of course Chrystal loved him and gave him all the attention she could. As wonderful as that is, it's no substitute for his very own home and his very own lap to curl up on. It makes me sad, sadder I suppose since his passing make me sad enough, but it makes me sad.
Would you help me then, please, to make sure that when his sister Tinkerbell is ready to go back on the adoption list, that she actually GETS a home of her own? That she doesn't end her days in the cathouse too?

There are so many kitties there that are SO adoptable and yet there is never even a nibble for them! I don't know how this can be when they are so sweet! Take the kitty I shared last week, Dora, and her buddy Jaws. They were kittens, KITTENS! Not even a nibble for a sweet adorable calico kitten?? How does this happen?

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to make anyone feel bad, honest.  I'm just seriously in wonder and shock about all of this. I had hoped that Peter Pan would rally and be around for a long time. Horrible disease.
Goodbye sweet Peter Pan, I know you are in perfect health where you are now, and you can fly free like your namesake.

As an advocate for Winnie's Wish, I can't not ask this: If you are able, please consider making a donation to Winnie's Wish or sending something from their Wish List in honor of Peter Pan. Every little bit helps the kitties who are still there and waiting for their forever homes. Thank you

Onto today's Opt to Adopt

I'm so sorry to hear about Peter Pan! This world can be such a cruel place. I'm glad that he was able to have love and comfort for at least a portion of his life. Purrs and prayers are going out to Tinkerbell in hopes that she is not depressed. Zen is such a beautiful kitty! I love the Beard of Wisdom. :)

I'm sorry Peter Pan has passed away. Sometimes the loss of a kitty affects you more than others and Peter Pan obviously touched your heart in a very special way. I don't think anyone failed him because he was safe, warm, cared for and loved, and he had Tinkerbelle by his side. Hopefully she will find a wonderful forever home when she's ready for adoption. Paws crossed Zen meets the right person who can give him the only-kitty home he needs.

So sorry to hear about Peter Pan. He and all cats who are without should have a home of their own. We wish the country would adopt TNR and Spay/Neuter of all pets so there are home for all kitties.
We will visit Crystal. That is one special rescue!
