Goofy Eater and Opt to Adopt Blog Hop Traci Mae

Ok, I will admit it. Last week was a tough week! I had to have two dresses done for out of town bridesmaids and everything on them took four times as long as I expected, plus I had tons to do for the shower this weekend and I almost didn't make it! Giving up sleep helped, but wow, kicked my butt!

I still have lots to do, but at least for now nothing is a rush rush. I may miss a day once in a while but I hope to be back to posting every week day, fingers and kitty paws crossed!

On to today's post!

Can someone explain this to me?

Leo: I don't have to explain anything. I'm a cat. I'm an enigma. I do what I want.

I'll see your 'enigma' and raise you a 'goofy'!

All of the kitties always eat sitting on the carpet in front of the bowls. But now, a few times, Leo has done this! It's hard to see, but there is a part of a wall, a chair and a table kind of boxing him in from this position. He looks squished to me! It's just weird!

Ok, I know some of you are going to say that the toys are in the way and he had to go there to get around them. Wrong! They always always have toys in front of, beside, and sometimes in those dishes and the tray and they still eat from the front.

On a side note, I'm not really sure who the toy mover is. We find toys everywhere but we don't see anyone shoving those in close to the food dishes.

So, what's he doing? Think he's afraid of a rear attack? Keeping an eye on us to make sure no one sneaks up? Looking to see if someone will take pity and fill that obviously empty bowl (how dare we let it get down half way! Shocking!)

I sure as heck don't know what he's thinking, goofy boy!

Girls Interrupted

I don't know what was going on here, but one of them looks guilty and the other looks irritated.. Did I interrupt a plot to take over the world?

Glitter: Cheese it, it's the pawparazzi!
Cashmere: Oh mouses, I hope they didn't overhear us..
Glitter: Maybe we should take them out?
Cashmere: Don't let them hear that either!

We are really getting late on posting! Working on wedding stuff is kicking my butt, I tell ya! I keep falling asleep with my hand on the mouse as I'm trying to crop pictures for the blog. I think I have to start working on them earlier or put together more than one day at a time. On the other side of the coin, I'm getting a lot done with the wedding! So please put up with us for the next two months being late and having to curtail lots of blog visits. I'm reading more than I comment on, but I'm trying! Love you all!

Happy St. Patrick's Day and Opt to Adopt Blog Hop!

Happy St. Paddy's Day!!

Found out an interesting tid-bit the other day and thought I'd share it. I suppose, being an Irish girl, I should have known this! It is not correct to say St. Patty's day, because Patty is short for Patricia. It's St. Paddy's day because Paddy is short for the Irish Padraig. Cool huh? Well, I find it interesting anyway!
Saw this and thought it was cute:
It’s Paddy, not Patty. Ever.
Saint Patrick’s Day? Grand.
Paddy’s Day? Sure, dead-on.
St. Pat’s? If ye must.
St. Patty? No, ye goat!
(from here: http://paddynotpatty.com/)

So happy St. Paddy's day! Adopt a kitty, or even a kiddy?? lol!

PS: Not picking on anyone who says Patty's day, just find the history of words/names fascinating personally! If you don't just skip down to the adorable adoptable below!

Yer Doin' It Wrong

Glitter: What do you mean "doin' it wrong"? You're the one who put it down this way!

Besides, I'm a cat, no matter how I do anything, its the right way!

Hope you all have a great weekend, no matter how you choose to do it!

Girlcat Power

Yesterday's Wordless Wednesday had Leo looking up at a feathery toy that has had corn husks dangling in the middle of it. The corn husks seemed to drive all of the cats crazy, which is probably why there is not one single bit of husk left on it.

Leo prefers to wait until the girls are tired out and done with it before he jumps in and gets the toy. Or he will wait until they are sleeping and get a private turn that way. The girls have no patience and, if I don't watch them, will steal it from it's hiding spot.

This clearance aisle, buck and a half little toy is a big hit around here!

Cashmere: Chomp! Love these crunchy husks!

Cashmere: Come here closer.. I want to see about this plastic string part too!

Glitter: Thank you for bringing it closer to me. You know I prefer to lean on things, even while playing!

Glitter: Oh feathers! I must lick the feathers!

Glitter: Lick lick lickity lick!
Cashmere: No no no, chomping is the best part! Alright, I got the plastic string bit but I'd rather have that husk part. Can you let go now?

Glitter: For a moment.. half a moment, ok.
Cashmere: Sure sure.. Ah husk bits, you're mine now!
Glitter: Ok, give it back now!

Cashmere: Sorry.. cant.. it's stuffed in my mouff. *gnaw chew nibble*

Glitter: Nice going. Mom moved the toy and I had to get up!
Cashmere: Don't worry, we'll get it back again.. At least *I* plan on getting it!

Cashmere: HA! Bear hug! Told ya I'd get it again!!

Glitter: *swish!* Rats! Missed it!

Glitter: Got it! Oh feathers, you're in for the licking of your life now! Numnumnum!

Yeah, she got it alright. Both of them did. You can see bits of husk around on the floor in some of the pictures. It only took them a while to get it all out of there. (mostly Cashmere worked on the husk removal project, Glitter concentrated on feathers, like her brother does!)

I believe most of the money has come in from the auction by now and it did great! We're still looking for a few people to make sure they know they won some items, so I don't have any totals yet. Still, so far it's awesome!

There's still a ways to go to reach the goal of $5000 to add the new cat room on the Winnie's Wish cat house though. And now there's the roof to repair too. So if you can, please help out by using the gofundme, or even the paypal button either on my sidebar or the daily dose sidebar! Every bit helps! Maybe even give five dollars for the Daily Dose five year blogoversary that was yesterday? (That Chrystal missed because of how busy things have been with snow, water, and mud, whoops!)

Thank you to everyone who has already helped and to everyone who participated in the auction!

Not My Toy and Opt to Adopt Blog Hop Snowflake

There is a toy here that we cobbled together from a broken Da Bird and a skinny piece of fleece left over from the edge of a project. For some reason it's a huge hit with the kitties! Cashmere regularly steals it, and recently Leo stole it from her.

So they like fleece, hmm? I cut another end off of another project and tried to play with her with it. Here's the results...

Cashmere: Ugh, it's so heavy.. what did you drop on me?

Cashmere: Ok, fine, it's not that heavy. But it's not mine either. Can you take it away now?

Well, I tried...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Auction for the Winnie's Wish Building fund is over! and it went great!
We are still shy of the goal to get the room going. If you can help, please check out the gofundme!
Aside from the new room, winter took a toll on the current cat room. The roof started leaking badly, we're talking standing water here! So it's going to need to be fixed before the new room goes on. The goal of $5000 is just the bare minimum for the room. We need to go over to get the roof done (And to make up for the approximate $400 fees on gofundme, yikes!) Please share the need and help where you can!
Thank you!!!
It's Opt to Adopt day!
How about ending winter with a gorgeous Snowflake? I guarantee you'll want to keep this one around all year! She's a sweetheart who loves to talk and really really needs a home of her very own! Won't you find room for a sweet Snowflake in your home? If you can't, then won't you share her just in case her forever family is someone you know? And ask your friends to share her too, because it could be one of their friends! Lets get this pretty girl in front of a whole bunch of people so she can finally have a home of her very own!
Overlooking and Owning
Glitter: Us girls own everything we overlook!
Cashmere: And we defend it with our lasers!
Leo: You may be overlookin' stuff, but I'm stomping all over it!
Glitter: Outta my face, bro!
Cashmere: (From a distance) That's it, I'm outta here!
Glitter: Guess I'm the only one left defending all I survey! But at least I got brat boy to take off!
Leo: What was that, sissy? I'm baacck!! Hee hee
Glitter: We'll see about that! I know my way around things..
Glitter: See! Now not only to I overlook everything, but I sits on it and if I sits, I owns! Silly boy, thought he could get something over on me.. heh heh.. Never gonna happen.
Cashmere Under Cover
I'm heading toward crunch time with Twin 1's wedding! I know from Twin 2's wedding last year that I will not have as much time to visit (and sometimes post) as much as I want to. I'll do my best to read everyone, but if you don't see me comment, please know it's not because I don't love you and your blogs, because I do! I just have to put most of my time and energy into this wedding. Two months is going to fly by!
On with the post!
While I've been working on shower invitations I've had my big computer in the living room where I can get at the printer easily (old printer not totally compatible with my new laptop, argh). Being a small room, there is really only one place to put it. Over the Royal Footstool which now houses one of the Ham-micks, topped by the flannel beddy Glitter stole confiscated commandeered from the Cozy Kitty FUNdraiser. A favorite of both girls!
Greg noticed that Cashmere was still using said double layered nappy spot and tried to get pictures with his cell phone. No flash on the cell phone.. So the pictures aren't the greatest, but you can see how squishy it is under the table and on the bed on top of the footstool!
Cashmere: What? There is too enough room for me under here! So what if my ears are touching..
Cashmere: Good spots are worth a little crowding.. Besides, this is one of the few times Glitter isn't hogging the Super Stack Sleepy Spot during prime napping hours!
We hope you all snag a great sleep spot this weekend! Have a great one!
Thank you to everyone who participated in the auction! It was great! Most of the money from it is in already, just waiting on a few! We'll announce a total when we have one!
We are so close to the goal of building the new cat room at Winnie's Wish! If you haven't yet, please check out the gofundme and see!
Don't forget they could use extra because of the roof damage from the last ice storm, so we're hoping to go over goal enough to pay for that too! Please use the share buttons on the gofundme site if you can! Thank you!!
Cousin Kitties
I've mentioned my cousin many times in my blog. She'd been a dog person forever and recently, well, more than a year now, but still recently in her life, became a cat person. I outlined her kitty family in This Post.
I had wanted to post about her kitty family on her birthday, but I missed it.. Her birthday was Saturday. Happy belated birthday cousin!
I was going to show pictures of her kitties, so I'm gonna do that today!
This is Lucky, on the bottom, and Romeo on the top. Lucky was on some pain meds but wouldn't stop licking his tiny stitches so he had to wear that huge bandage to cover them. He was laying on the back of that chair/couch and Romeo couldn't snuggle with him. Or so he thought. Romeo needed to let his buddy know he was there for him and that's the only way he could get up close and personal!
This was about a year ago.. forgot to ask for more recent pictures of the older boys, whoops!
Lucky: Dude, you're laying on me..
Romeo: You need a cuddle.
Lucky: I need a nap..
Romeo: Ok, I need a cuddle.
Lucky: Fine. But no snoring!
Romeo: Want to share your drugs?
Lucky: You wish!
Romeo: Well, it was a thought..
Here's Lucky without bandages or drugs (except nip!) enjoying a kicker!
Lucky: Bwahahaha! I kills you! That means I wins!
Nitro got to visit me when I was in rehab! Such a cute little guy he was!
Nitro: Please to be putting me down now! I has to race around every inch of this room!
He grew up! And really enjoyed the beddy he got from me!
Nitro: I give you kissy eyes.. or am I falling asleep? I'll never tell!
Then came Stumpy! Her second Foster to Family kitty (is that a better term than foster fail?)
I finally got pictures of him!
Stumpy: This my Marilyn Monroe pose.. Me, all in the fur on a pretty blanket! You know I looks good!
A close up of the source of his name. Cousin felt bad for him trying to walk around at the shelter she works at because it's all tile and he would slip and slide everywhere. She brought him home to see how he would do on carpet. She's a sucker sweetie like that! Because she knew and so did everyone else, that once he got in her house, he wasn't going anywhere!
He's got down to the heel, missing the whole foot part of the leg. With no scar showing, it looks like he was probably born this way. And of course he does not know there's anything wrong with him!
Stumpy likes that new bed too!
Stumpy: You can tell that Orange Terror that this is mine now, ok?
And here are the two younger boys enjoying a moment together.
Stumpy: So now do you see why he races around the house so fast?
Nitro: It's my go-go juice! And this is my go-go race car box! Vroom Vroom!
Stumpy: It's my turn soon. Right mom?
A few days late, but I hope you enjoyed getting to know Cousin's Kitties!
