Glitzy Glitter and Her Cardboard Litter

Glitter better watch out or she's going to wind up getting fined for littering! I don't know what it is, but this girl LOVES to shred cardboard!

At first I didn't know it was her making the mess! She hid her addiction well! But you can follow along with this photographic evidence and see how bad her addiction has become.

This first picture is very early after the girls arrival. Note that there is some wear and tear on the edges and a teeny tiny bit of the green front is missing.
Glitter has loved sleeping on or lounging against this scratchy from the beginning. Star and Leo would use it to scratch a little then walk away, but Glitter alone has discovered that it's shaped like a lounge chair and uses it as such! (What probably didn't hurt her affection for the lounger is the fact that we got it on the trip to pick up Leo three years ago and gave a few identical ones to Chrystal for the cathouse at the same time, so the girls were familiar with the lounger, if not the smell of our cats on this one!)
I claim this, it belongs to me now. That is all.

A couple months down the road and you can see some of the green paper has been shredded off. Glitter, looking innocent as can be, just lounges there. Cashmere curled up under the chair looked more guilty!
Glitter: Someone's abusing my lounger? Shocked! yes, I am shocked at this turn of events!
Cashmere: Uh.. Yeah, sure Glitter. I'm gonna stay over here, it's getting kinda deep over there..

Another couple of months and I'm all "Oh my gosh, who could be doing this? What a mess!" What a debris field! And there sits Miss Innocent..
I think it was that Hissyface Star.. She's always got her mouth open to hiss or growl, she mist be doing this as well... Yeah, that's got be it..

What's that? The lounger's been here for years and she's never done anything like this before? Well... Oh, she must have realized that I like it! Yeah, there ya go.. that's the ticket... Ok then? Not my fault.

Not too long after the above picture, but you can see that there is a bit more off.
Um, I have no explanation for how there are more shreds even after Star went to the bridge.. Maybe it was Leo after all?

What do you mean it's too small for Giant Boy to use? I'm starting to think you might be implying something about me.. This conversation is over.

This is just the other day. Hmm I really should clean the toys and things out from under that chair..
Fine, if you want to think I'm the shredder, there's nothing I can do to stop you.. Just because my fur is full of cardboard shreds and you 'claim' to have seen me pulling off bits with my teeth.. NO one will believe you! I'm too pretty and lady like to be convicted of such a crime!

I wonder if she'd let me use the vacuum hose on her...

Hmmm... I'm thinkin' that the evidence at paw is merely circumstantial. Without pictures of the actual shreddin' takin' place, nothin' can be admitted in court. MOUSES!

Wow that's a great job done on the scratcher/lounger but what a wonderful excuse for not cleaning the carpet!

One of the cats who went before loved being vacuumed with the hose. brandi tolerated it, too. I on the other hand have never been vacuumed....
