Four Cat Room

Friends, we have had a momentous weekend! Things are going better than expected with the new kitties! We are beside ourselves with happiness!

Super shy scardy cat Cashmere is a real love bug! Glitter is a bold carefree lovey girl!

At around 4am Saturday morning I posted this on facebook:
So it's the middle of the night, Glitter and Cashmere are playing Thundering Herd Of Elephants on the stairs, Star is giving them disapproving looks like an old bitty, and Leo is totally freaked out and keeps jumping up into my arms when it gets especially loud! and I'm In total heaven that the girls are so comfortable already that they're playing! Oh, and Greg is snoring and missing it all, lol!

That was the start of the turn around!

Not long after they finished playing THoE I noticed a little head peeking up and down on the other side of Greg. I realized it was Cashmere. I called her name, trying to use a high pitched voice which I understand cats respond more too. It worked, she perked up and jumped over Greg and came almost close enough to touch.

Greg woke up and she went over to him. He reached out and pet her! She did not run! In fact, she went about nuts turning herself in circles and rolling her head upside down almost rolling over as he pet her!

Was I jealous? You bet!

But not for long because she soon came to me for attention. She was in heaven! Oh the petting and scritching she wanted and received! She was turning herself inside out for attention! Just as fast as she arrived, she took off. We went back to bed. Then I noticed her again. I called her and told her that if she wanted more attention she was going to have to learn to get on the bed with me.

And she did!

She jumped up and walked up me until she could practically purr right in my face as I pet and scritched her! She even let me rub her tummy!!!!!!!

And Glitter! As I posted previously she was coming to us for lots of pets and scritches. She is a little doll! She comes trotting into the room and rams her head into my leg, then gets pet and pet and pet then she trots back out. A little while later she repeats the whole thing, again and again. It's adorable!

She also let me rub her tummy as she rolled around on Leo's cat tree!

By Sunday morning, we had all four kitties in the living room, napping, lounging, window watching, doing all the things happy cats do!

Well, Star wasn't so happy. Though she has finally stopped hissing whenever they are in the room, but still growls when they get within a couple of feet of her.

Leo is doing well with the new girls. He doesn't want to play with them yet or anything, but he's curious. They don't hiss or growl at him like Star does. But he's still nervous of them. I think in time he'll learn that they don't want to fight with him and they'll all three play THoE on the stairs. I can't wait!

A few pictures: Glitter discovered the back of the recliner, I think she likes it, she got comfy and stayed quite a while.

Not so sure about how this thing rocks.. but it's comfy!

Star showed up, watched her and grumbled a little. Glitter seems to have the attitude of "What is your problem lady?" and never responds in kind.

Star: Who said you could have my chair?
Glitter: Who said this is your chair?
Star: Everything is my chair!
Glitter: Ok.... Whatever.

Hope you all had as good a weekend as we had!

I am so glad things are going so well!! It's awesome that the new girls feel so at home already! I'm sure Leo will be friends with them in no time, and Star will learn to tolerate them :) They all just need a little time to adjust, but it looks very promising all around!

I am so proud of your new babies!!! They have moved in and taken over but I have to admit I feel badly for little Star. I hoe she adjusts quickly. Leo too except he said he's spending the nights here,

That really is some very exciting progress!

that is wonderful. Poor Leo - his main experience is with Star who doesn't like him and now he has MORE girls to contend with. but we bet he comes around in no time.

I miss a couple of days and your cat population doubles! That's so good that the two sisters were able to go to a home together. And your home is perfect for them. I think Star will adjust well to the additions. She may not like them, but she'll adjust. And Leo seems to be half-way there.

How wonderful! The new kitties are settling in nicely, the resident kitties need to relax a little.

Perhaps Leo is a little concerned because of Star's reaction. Hope they learn to enjoy the games and share the furniture sooon!

Congratulations on the great progress with your expanded furry family. Sounds like everyone is adjusting really well and settling in.

The Human and I offer congratulations on how well you are welcoming those pretty girls into your Human/feline family.

BUT, I must say, Darling Star, you will find they are nice kitties who . . .Oh wait, who am I kidding? They are INTROODUR cats and nothing they meow or do will change that. They need to give you respect and a wide berth, and you must teleport here immediately anytime you feel the least bit uneasy at their annoying presence! XOXOXOXO

Congrats on the new additions!

I'm glad they are settling in so fast. And lying down quietly is often the best way for a shy kitty to get the confidence to come and say hello.
