This and That

We didn't get any work done on the Skywalk today *pout* and if I know Greg, we won't get back to it until next weekend. Understandable, when he gets home barely an hour and a half to two hours before it gets dark and he's filthy when he gets here.

Star is feeling so much better today! That shot works so fast, her scabs are almost all gone already and she's perked up and ate her snacky like a champ again. She's been slightly off her feed, not enough for her to have lost even an ounce, but she wouldn't eat when we put it out, only later would she touch it. Today she munched immediately!

And that after having her gooseliver/braunschwiger covered medicine! Someone asked, I'm sorry I don't remember who, why she got an antibiotic. Good question.. And I do question the over use of antibiotics in people and in animals. But she'd been digging so much, scratching herself raw in places, that she had some infected spots. Not many, and honestly I don't know if she needs 15 days worth.. but I do think she needed it this time.

I got some pictures in an email today from Maggie of Sunday's At The Shelter! She had made a donation to Winnie's Wish and got a toy set. She gave some to her kitties at home and took some to the shelter she volunteers at. This sweet kitty named Jack loved the Winnie's Wish pillow!

Isn't he just adorable? He's up for adoption in Norwalk CT, you can find him on the PAWS site.

Here's what Maggie had to say:
Your package arrived yesterday and was promptly opened by my cats.
I left some of the toys home with my gang of three.
I brought several with me for the cats at PAWS, the shelter where I volunteer.

Jack is a wonderful young cat and loved the Winnie's Wish toy.
It seemed so right to see a shelter cat enjoying the toys that raised money for
other homeless cats.

I'm so glad the shelter kitties got to share in the FUN! Thank you Maggie!

You want your kitties to have some FUN? You're in luck! You still have time to get in on the Winnie's Wish FUN FUN FUNdraiser! Check out the Details Here!
Thank you!!

Thanks to Random Felines I now know that it's Adopt a Less Adoptable Pet Week!

Chrystal has some kitties that have been waiting a long time for homes, they may be a touch older, but they're still looking for their very own humans to love them! She's also got a few kittens, some in the black cat category, they want forever too! Please help them find their very own forever home and fulfill Winnie's Wish!

I don't know what's going on, but several places where I'm leaving comments.. are not letting my comments show up! If you don't see a comment from me, it doesnt mean that I'm not trying to leave one! I hope this gets worked out soon..

We think it was us who asked about the antibiotic! MOL.
Sounds like it's warranted since she has some infected spots. So happy the shot worked so quickly!

It's good to hear that Star is feeling better! From what we understand, they give long courses of antibiotics (and ask you to finish them completely) because if you're going to use them these days, you should use them to completely kill off whatever infection they are treating so that it doesn't become antibiotic-resistant. Using only part of the course of treatment is part of the cause of antibiotic-resistant strains of things, or some articles have explained.

Glad Star is feeling better...Cody always gets an antibiotic shot (I opt for the shot because he gets the prednisone in pill form and I want the antibiotic to work faster) and he can't use pill pockets due to allergies. They give antibiotics because the "hot spots" are usually oozing and as you said can be infected. We don't want that getting into their bloodstream.

We got our toy package, too! Moosey loved ALL the toys, but we'll be taking some to PAWS, too (we volunteer there with Maggie)! :)

Hugs!

Oh that shot really does work and glad that Star is better all ready. That anitbiotics are just a safety measure. All that scratching can get infected. It is fun to see a shelter kitty with the toys.Take care.

Oh My Darling Star! I am so glad to hear your are feeling perky again! I hated to think you were under the weather. I hates the Stabby Place but sometimes there's nuffing else to do and you just have to suck it up and put on your big girl pantaloons! I will be over later to inspect the work on that Skywalk your lazy Daddy is not working on. Maybe I'll put the bitey on him?
